Sesame Street Birthday outfit!

A friend asked me to design a special outfit for her sons upcoming party. This is what I presented her with earlier today.

It was such a joy to try out a few new characters and make this outfit for an adorable little boy. I was able to make Oscar and Cookie monster in full applique so in person it has a 3-D quality.

Thanks for taking a look at my latest creation and taking the time to stop by my little corner of the world! Have a wonderful Day!!!

Wil's apron front. There were 3 different boy fronts but I am looking through my pics for a photo of the boy applique apron.

Here is Tori's Apron front

That is all I have for now. The kids are really off today and I need to get them set for the week. I am hoping tomorrow will be a better day for the kiddos maybe it was just a bit too much excitment for one weekend .

Monkey See Monkey Do!!!!

Monkey See, Monkey Do,This Monkey Cooks how about you?
Tori turned eight and wanted to celebrate by cooking cupcakes!

Here is the birthday girl!
What a happy little monkey!

Well I should start by showing you how all her little monkey friends knew when and where to party!

I made the invitations out of bulletin board die cuts, themed stickers and a few different sized mailing labels.

This is a look at the goodie "bags'I put together for the boys.

and here is a look at the girls' loot.

These are washcloth "cupcakes" with mini bubble centers and topped with pom poms.
You can also see the muffin tins which I spray painted a chocolate brown and used pink glitter for the girls and blue for the boys. These make great trinket holders and are fun for magnet play too!

Here are some adorable "cupcake" soaps the kids and I made using the old ivory soap trick and a little paint and glitter.

Okay, this one I really love! this is a strawberry plant starter kit from the dollar spot (75%off no less!!)topped with a little tissue paper and a monkey eraser.

Also included in the goodie bags( a bath poof with a squinky as a topper, banana rubberband bracelets, monkey tattoos, various candy and sugar filled yummies, a pencil with a foam topper made by the birthday princess herself!)

Speaking of the Birthday girl, every princess needs a special outfit for HER day. Here is a look at Tori's monkey/cupcake outfit.

I will post pics of the aprons I made for her guests and miscellaneous fun things tomorrow because those little monkey took alot of energy out of me today so I am off to SLEEP while my little monkeys are tucked into there beds with dreams of monkey bread and chunka munka ice cream dance through their heads.

I would like to end on this, Tori has always been a very shy girl who found it difficult to be social in any way, so this year when she asked (for the first time ever) to have a birthday party with all of her friends I was through the moon excitement for the progress she has worked so hard to make. Today was not only a great day of partying with 2nd grade monkeys but also marks growth for my little TT, I am so proud of her and while I am enjoying every moment I can with her I am very excited for the person she is becoming  and the grand things she is going to show this world!

Happy Birthday Tori!!!! I am immensely proud of you and love you move then words can express!!!!

Thank you for reading my blog and stopping by my little corner of the world.

Camera Capers

Okay so the other day I was playing with the baby (Rory) and decided to get a few pictures.

All was going very well. Rory was enjoying herself and I was LOVING the chance to get some pictures for her album. Shockingly all of the other kids were entertaining themselves. Until.......

Cassie-the Ham saw the camera and needed to get in on the action.
Not to be out hammed Benjamin felt the need to strike a pose.  LOL

Miss Tori saw an opportunity to be cheesy, and my lap is now getting very full and MAN are this kids heavy! But wait.....
here comes Matty and ...
Molly followed by .....
Andrew and finally .....

Michael was the last to join and at this point I have two thoughts running through my head. 1. I really need to figure out how I am going to get my legs unburied, I am sooooo out numbered. and 2. WOW Ikea makes a solid sectional! LOL
It is moments like this that reminds me of the important things in life like remembering to stop and enjoy those impromptu family moments that create memories for all of us.

Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about my little corner of the world.

Oh Happy Day!

Today is a great day! It is the first day that everyone here is back to our normal health!!!!!  Thank goodness!! All of the kids made it to school and stayed the whole day. Except of coarse baby Rory who stays home still. I was even feeling well enough to do a little shopping in between dropping off and picking up the kids. Bye Bye Mr. Flu, it was not so nice playing with you.  LOL

I have a ton of projects that I am working on, but do to the bug that hit our house I am so very behind in getting them done. So today will be a short post so I can get a few things done to share with you.

Since I am working on a few birthday projects I will post some of my favorites from Benjamin's 5th birthday. It was a cooking/ Dr. Seuss party and we had a blast!
Here is my little birthday boy!! He really did enjoy his whole day, I just couldn't get a good picture for anything.  He is sporting his Cat in The Hat  Suess Chef Benjamin apron with matching hat. Of coarse every chef needs a good towel close at hand and what could be more fitting then a Blue Fish hand towel. LOL
All of the kids enjoyed listening to our head chef's instructions before heading into the kitchen to begin making our treats.

Each child received a red Cat in The Hat apron with their name embroidered on it. That was a HUGE hit with kids and parents alike!

Birthday Wishes are made and then we got to feast on our treats that we just made.  Green Eggs and Ham, Horton Hears a Who Elephant Ears, and Cat in the Hat cupcakes.

YUMMY!!!!

Here is a better look at the outfit, I had to make him 2 different shirts because he wore one to preschool on his birthday, and of coarse they painted and I couldn't get the stain out in time for his party the next morning.
Well, now I need to make dinner and work on a couple of birthday goodies so more festive fun can be had.

Thank you for reading about my little corner of the world! Have a GREAT night!!!

Today is Andrew's Birthday!!! Yea!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday, Andrew!!!!
Well being that birthdays tend to put the kids into an automatic sugar induce craze I didn't accomplish much to day. Other then maintaining absolutely no control over the chaos these 8 kiddos can produce. So I will post a few older outfits that I made.

Awe!!! My sweet little boys. I loved (and still do) to dress them alike, but Benjamin didn't like everyone thinking they were twins. Because he is older by a whole 9 months and 7 days. LOL So I decided that coordinating was even better. These outfits were made for a Walt Disney World Dinner with the characters. Matthew is in the black vest with white Mickey pockets and Benjamin is in the white vest with black Mickey pockets.  I really loved the way these turned out I only wish I had known to take pictures of the outfits alone. In those days I hadn't even thought about making outfits for other people or even displaying my work. I was just enjoying trying to keep up with my quickly growing family.

Here is a shot of the girls with Prince Charming. They also had dresses for their Teddy bear and doll.

Which Benjamin ended up falling for the bear and right then and there began his request for matching outfits for every stuffy and doll he owns. Poor kid takes right after me, hee hee.

Of course I didn't want them to go to dinner in black and white outfits without LARGE tarps protecting their clothes (giggling okay LOL at my own perfectionists ways) So I decided to embroider Mickey icons and their names on paint smocks that I could easily clean. Oh and that one paid off twice that vacation. We discovered if you turn them around and throw a cute bucket hat on the kid they work great for on the go rain gear.

Well I am being beckoned to mommy duty, so as always THANK YOU for reading my blog. Have a wonderful and blessed night.

I will post again soon.

Sorry for the LONG pause in my posts.

HELLO AGAIN!!!!!!
Wow that feels good, I locked myself out of my account and haven't been able to post for way too long. So Woo Hoo!!! I am back and ready to continue to share my little courner of the world with you.

Tonight I would love to show you a few of the projects I have been working on since I last posted.

This is Cassie's birthday outing. She turned 2 and Dora (one of her new favorites) was having a birthday party at the mall so that is where we headed to celebrate too.

This is a little better picture of her dress looked like. She loved it because it was the perfect swoosh for dancing all day long.

While we were at the mall that day I was going to drop off this shirt that I made for the son of a friend of mine who was headed out to the Curious George Live show. I am so organized that I forgot to take a picture to share with you guys until I got to the mall. Thanks to the Mall of America for the lovely bench to use as a prop in this picture. Lol

Okay so I will leave you tonight with a creation of a different medium ........

But one the kids like probably better then my sewing ones.

Thank you for reading my blog. Have a wonderful and blessed day.
